Soul Artist: Yousri Belgaroui

Glory fighter Yousri Belgaroui was born and raised in the North of Amsterdam to parents who immigrated from Tunisia. When he was young he had to learn to defend himself on the streets. That’s where the interest for fighting started.

Yousri is intelligent and academically gifted. He graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in Public Governance and Management. He found out that a career in the corporate world wasn’t his path. October 2016 Yousri got signed by Glory with Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya as two of his rivals. 

Yousri fell in love with the sport Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) after he had the opportunity to join an MMA training. He compares it with chess. You always have to be one step ahead of your opponent and be prepared for every move he makes.
Yousri had the privilege to learn from fighters like Melvin Manhoef & Alistair Overeem.

22th of januari 2021 Yousri had his MMA debut fight. While visualizing the win from his hotelroom before the fight he realized that this is purpose. Training for the fight, winning the fight & eventually becoming a UFC champion.
Yousri ended up winning his MMA debut fight.

Currently Yousri is fighting for UAE Warriors in Abu Dhabi, but he gives himself two years to win the UFC belt and put Amsterdam on the map!
Fighting is his passion and the Soul Piece team admires that.
